Trevisan’s retirement and the wait for the rain to clear mark the morning at the BBVA Open Internacional de Valencia – BBVA Open Internacional de Valencia

Martina Trevisan’s retirement, the 2021 BBVA Open Internacional de Valencia champion, has marked the morning session on the fourth day of the tournament.

The Italian, who defeated Leyre Romero on Tuesday on Centre Court at the Sporting Club de Tenis Valencia, has been unable to overcome her physical problems, allowing France’s Clara Burel to advance to the next round.

The day began with the tournament’s first doubles match, featuring Valencian pair Alicia Herrero and Lucía Cortez against Dalila Jakupovic and Nalma Karamoko.

The rest of the day, weather permitting, will feature María García Cid against Yasmine Kabbaj on Centre Court, followed by Andrea Lázaro against Ane Mintegi. The day will conclude with the doubles match between Nuria Brancaccio and Veronica Erjavec and the pairing of Irene Burillo and Nicole Fossa.
