The BBVA Open Internacional de Valencia, the only WTA tournament in the Comunitat Valenciana, has started its sixth day of competition with Valencian and Spanish protagonism on the court.
The Sporting Club de Tenis Valencia hosted the first doubles semifinal, three (not four) matches of the singles draw and the start of the U14 tournament.
In the first case, Ángela Fita and Ivone Cavalle-Reimers managed to reach the final after defeating Makenna Jones and Laura Pigossi in two sets (6-4 and 6-3).
In the second, the morning began with the withdrawal of Sara Bejlek due to injury, which directly qualified Nuria Parrizas for the semifinals. Meanwhile, Louisa Chirico overcame a heat stroke and eliminated Barthel by 6-4 and 7-6, while Gao won in three sets against Shymanovich by 3-6 and a double 6-4.
In the only afternoon contest, Hanne Vandewinkel eliminated No. 1 seed Solana Sierra. In three sets, she started winning 6-4, lost the second set by the same score and finished with a favorable 6-3.
At the same time as the professional players, the U14 players started the traditional trophy that allows future promises to experience an elite competition from the inside.
