EL BBVA OPEN INTERNACIONAL DE VALENCIA ABRE SU SEGUNDO AÑO COMO WTA CON UNA JORNADA DE SIETE PARTIDOS – BBVA Open Internacional de Valencia

The BBVA Open Internacional de Valencia begins its third edition at the Sporting Club de Tenis, where it will welcome some of the best players on the WTA circuit after their time at Roland Garros.

The first day has started with a total of four matches on the center court of the facility in the capital of the Turia, with qualifying matches starting at 11 am.

The opening clash took place between Carole Monnet and Helene Pellicano with victory for the French player by a double 6-1, followed in the morning by Jacquemot and Gámiz with victory for the former by a double 6-3,

The Valencian Lucía Cortez opened the afternoon session but was eliminated against the Croatian Lea Boskovic, closing the day with a 7-5 and 6-3 win for the American Ann Li against the Spanish Guiomar Maristany Zuleta de Reales.

Along with them, court 2 hosted three more clashes, in which Semenistaja got rid of Karatantcheva by 6-1 and 6.0, Astakhova did the same with Adrienko by 6-3 and 6-0 and Barthel won by 6-3 and 6-1 against Fomina-Klotz.

Sunday’s match will start at 12 noon with the main court duel between Semenistaja and Barthel, followed by the match between Seguel and Li at 16:30.

At the same time, the main favorites in the main draw have already landed in Levantine lands and will begin their training to prepare for the first round that will take place on Tuesday 7.

The top seed, Sara Sorribes, will lead more than a dozen Top100 players, with Top50 Mayar Sherif as one of the favorites, along with Roland Garros finalist Sara Errani, Katerina Bandl, Emma Navarro, Julia Grabher, Panna Udvardy, Nadia Podoroska, Carolina Dolehide, Elina Avanesian and Clara Tauson.
