The BBVA Open Internacional Valencia Tournament, with the help of Anabel Medina and Tennium, will bring the best women’s tennis to the capital of the Turia, which from September 12 to 19 will host at the Sporting Club de Tennis a trophy with prizes of up to $80,000 for its participants that will become the second most important in Spain in the women’s category.
The tournament’s philosophy is based on values such as integration, with exhibitions planned for blind players, the promotion of female talent and sustainability.
The first day will begin with a total of 16 matches between the central courts, 1 and 2 of the facility in the capital of the Turia, with six rounds of qualifying matches starting at 10 am.
At the same time, the main favorites in the final draw have already landed in Valencian lands and will begin their training to prepare for the first round that will take place on Tuesday 14.
Among them stand out as Top 5 Arantxa Rus (61), Aliona Bolsova (88), Mihaela Buzar-nescu (20), Martina Trevisan (83) and Maryna Zanevska (105). Their best WTA rankings are shown in brackets.
Likewise, the Wild Cards who will opt to fight for the trophy will be the Roland Garros junior champion Rebeka Masarova, the world junior number one Victoria Jimenez and the winner of six ITF tournaments Marina Bassols.
Along with them, the local touch will be provided by Leyre Romero (double winner of the Cairo Tournament in singles and doubles), and the promising Lucía Cortez, Raquel González and Ángela Fita.
